I made a sigil, it's hard to forget it because of its simplicity. But I don't know why we have to forget it, really. Wouldn't memorizing it be better? It'll permeate through life regardless, but having it memorized would work since we can't be thinking of sigils all day anyways.

I'm using the Goddess Fuji, once the Goddess of Mt. Fuji, she was the friend of women and protector of children and fertility. I figured, that as a protective thought-form she would work.

Are there any suggestions for any sort of ritual to make it work? She is being called specifically to dispell cruelty and terror.

Just a quick question. I have the house to myself tonight so I'm planning on casting a success spell to help me make the most of the next couple of weeks before a review at work.:hyper:

I have all the materials I need including some candles and I wanted to check in to see if anyone had any recommendations on what symbols I might carve into the candles to give them a little something extra? ;)

Does anyone know of a good resource for symbols online? I'd love to troll though it before the spell and pick out some good ones!

There is a question that has been disturbing me. Is it possible to be enlightened and still be invested in a romantic relationship? I just broke it off with a man who was placed in my life magically. We literally manifested each other. Magick at its best! And at the end, I had to leave because he was just living for pleasure, living in the moment, and not willing to look down the road and plan for space in his heart for a long-lasting, romantic relationship. Not with me, not with anyone. He numbed himself with intoxicants, I believe so he wouldn't have to feel.

On the one hand, I can see what he means when he says he doesn't want to limit love to one person (and he's not talking about sleeping around, lets just give the benefit of the doubt on this point). He says he believes love is all encompassing. He says he doesn't want to be responsible for another's emotions because we are all responsible for our own emotions. This must be a lie, because while we FEEL when someone does something to hurt us, we are only responsible for how we respond to the situation that caused the hurt so that it can't happen again. (think 'child born to horribly abusive parents. child one day escapes'). For all the talk he did on everything and everyone being "ONE" he failed to allow himself to connect with me emotionally. How can you connect with another if your empathy isn't available? And compassion, lets not forget to imagine how "we" would feel if an act was done to us. Would we feel pain, and even if not, would the majority of people feel pain? If the answer is yes, best vote for compassion, put selfishness aside, and do what's good for the other.

I know what it means to feel the kind of love he's talking about. However, I don't feel a romantic relationship limits that. I believe that if I treat another as I would like to be treated, then it's going to be good. I believe that if I prefer clarity to agreement, it's ok. And I feel like, as long as I communicate where I stand on the most intimate issues, then I have been clear, and no lies are in the way to destroy the chance to make an agreement. And the agreement would be this: I will love you as I love myself. I will hold your heart with the utmost respect and loyalty, putting Spirit first, and allowing that energy to work through me toward enrichment of both our lives.

It's said that Jesus never married, Buddha left his family for a time, and there have been throughout time monastics who seperated themselves from others to seek God/Goddess with all their heart. But something inside me says it doesn't have to limit a person to engaging in a commitment of the romantic nature.

Please, tell me what are your thoughts? If I step into enlightenment, does this mean that I must disconnect myself from the possibility of loving and serving a lover in an equal, lifelong committment? Further, if I disconnect myself from this earth, seeing it as a movie passing by, then what comes of my responsibility to affect my reality for the good? What comes of my innate and powerful ability as an empath?

I have a magickal question for you. I've been battling an eating disorder since 2006ish, and have been both dangerously thin and very overweight. I have received treatment in the form of counseling and depression medication, and I've been able to deeply investigate and confront the roots of my eating disorder. But now, 4 years later, I'm still struggling a lot with lingering disordered habits.

Is there a type of magickal working or ritual I could do to help break these lingering habits? I'm caught in a cycle of making painstaking progress and then sliding backward. I want to move forward and KEEP moving forward. I'm looking for suggestions that are simple and focused. Would a banishing be good for this situation, or perhaps a cleansing? What about candle or incense magick? Or something to strengthen my resolve?

Just a disclaimer -- I understand that there is no magical pill that will instantly cure me. But I want to include the more spiritual/universal side of things in this battle against disordered eating, and I want to get ON with my life! :) Any spell or ritual would be purely supplemental, not a cure-all.

This is for for those of us that are in New York City - I wanted to see what everyone's favorite Botanica is?

Personally, when I have the time to head out to "Original Products Botanica" in the Bronx I always come back with a fantastic haul - they have EVERYTHING there including a little store-in-store called "Magical Realms" which deals just with Pagan and Wiccan needs (their candles are amazing). The New York Times wrote an article about it recently which I've copied below if anyone wants to read.

I would love if anyone had any recommendations for anything in Manhattan or Brooklyn though? Where does everyone go for their supplies - I'm always interested in discovering off the beaten track shops and secret little places!!

Just a quick question - what do you all do with your used (burnt down to scraps) candles after candle spells?

I've read that for spells that are working to bring things to you - you should bury the candle near your home and that for banishing spells the opposite is advised?

I've just finished burning a 4 day candle as part of a prosperity spell and I'm wondering what you all might advise in this situation?
